Full Home Renovation IV
The community of Glen Allen is another desired and mature neighbourhood in Sherwood Park, full of large trees and substantial yards. Many of the homes are getting older and this one, in particular, was in dire need of an upgrade.
Design styles of the 1970s were truly unique to that era. Dusty rose, sea-foam green, brass and dark oak everything adorned many homes of that decade.
Luckily, the original home was very well-built and we were able to salvage some of the beautiful elements already there, including:
• The original hardwood floors throughout the entire home were kept and completely refinished on-site.
• Brass and crystal light fixtures adorned the home, many of which we upcycled by removing the crystals and spraying them with a rich, oil-rubbed bronze paint before reinstalling them.
• We removed an old sunroom and framed in an addition on the main floor, which allowed us to expand the master bedroom to double its original size on the second floor.
• Two luxurious steam showers were also installed and we brightened up the kitchen by removing the dark oak cabinets and replacing them with white, installing an additional window and adding more space.
This full home reno is a prime example of unleashing the full potential in an existing home, which has allowed the owners to remain rooted in their neighbourhood and love their home again.
