This role may be for you if:
You have at least 4-5 years managing an Admin Team
You have worked in the home building industry for at least 3 years
Have knowledge and experience in accounting and human resources
You have the confidence and initiative to make key decisions that will positively impact your team and the company
You are self-driven, and possess a motivating personality who can coordinate and delegate with conviction
You are someone that can work effectively with other managers and is an excellent communicator
You have the ability to stay focused in a demanding environment, with great time-management skills
You have strong computer skills. Experience with BuilderTrend, Quickbooks and Microsoft Office are an asset
Your daily duties will include:
- Assist in managing daily company operations to ensure a positive, safe and profitable working environment
- Lead, mentor and manage all Gentry Home Builders office staff
- Implement effective company policies and procedures that communicate expected employee behaviours, health and safety rules, and overall best practices for job duties
- Review staff workloads and delegate daily tasks as required
- Continuously monitor all staff workflow and productivity, ensuring tasks are completed correctly and on schedule
- Assist Project Managers with proposals including gathering prices from subtrades and vendors
- Schedule and lead meetings
- Review all projects and ensure Project Managers are following company procedures. Report any concerns or recommendations to Company GM
- Interview and hire new employees
- Conduct regular employee reviews
- Direct administrative activities
- Approve any and all employee absences and leave time
- Authorize purchases necessary to company operations, including office supplies and equipment
- Negotiate prices and maintain good working relationships with subtrades and vendors
- Stay up-to-date with industry laws and standards through research and participation in various events offered through the Canadian Home Builders Association and other industry-related organizations
