Let's back up a bit.
At Gentry Home Builders, we work with some pretty fantastic people. Our team consists of a tight-knit group of super talented family and friends. Seriously though, these are friends that we choose to hang out with outside of work, even after engaging through the thick and thin of the day together. These people put the "family" in "work-family," really.
Everyone has their own unique talents that contribute to keeping this home-building engine running smoothly and efficiently. Earlier in 2019, our team expanded to include our very own home designer, which has been a massive benefit to our business and our clients. She ensures that our houses are built to the most beautiful potential, and keeps our clients' style and budget on par.
So, what's it like working with a designer every day? Well, as mentioned before, everything is a bit more beautiful. From a work-family point of view, the ho-hum mediocre things that you may walk past every day and pay little attention to may actually drive your designer a little crazy. One day you might show up to work to find that a bare, boring spot on your wall or desk is now beautified with a dainty sprig of green life that she's grown herself. Without even thinking about it, you may suddenly find yourself paying closer attention to how organized and appealing other things around the office look. You might start even looking at your own appearance and fashion choices and thinking to yourself that you can do better. And to clarify, there's never ever any judgment on her part. Just inspiration to do better.
You're constantly inspired by the sketches of various home areas you'll find on her desk, like kitchens, bathrooms, and exteriors. And you always know that the stack of paint swatches, tile samples, and other various specimens are going to be curated into a harmonious and pleasing pallet for a client's home.
The mind of a designer is creative and complicated. They find inspiration in everything in their surrounding world. Fashion, nature, and architecture are super important. Sticks and stones are shockingly meaningful. Really though. It's not just a job, it's a life choice.
We are very fortunate to have a designer in our life. Any client that we have will have the opportunity to use her impeccable talent in their very own home. In a seemingly effortless, second-nature kind of way, she will make your home more beautiful than you may have imagined.
